Demonstrator Program

The Demonstrator program provides an opportunity to a select group of our dancers, to assist in the dance classroom on a weekly basis, while contributing to their required High School community hours. The Demonstrator Program provides an opportunity to young and experienced dancers to begin learning the roles and responsibilities of the Dance Teacher through role modelling.

Ballerina Dreams Volunteer Program

In January 2011 Powell School of Dance, Inc., in collaboration with the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre - Cornwall Site, launched a dance therapy program for children with special needs, called BALLERINA DREAMS. The Volunteers are assigned to shadow the same ballerina each week, from arrival, during the class and until dismissal to their parents.

Junior Teacher Program

The Junior Teacher Program provides an opportunity to a select group of our dancers to assist the dance teacher in the classroom on a weekly basis. These students participated in a 3-day ADAPT Junior Teacher Program at the Performing Dance Arts studio in Toronto, July 2016. As certified ADAPT Junior Teachers, these dancers are permitted to assist the teacher, as well as learn how to teach skills and technique.
